Our plant “Sokol” designs and also supplies silos for storing grain in a modern design. Silo – the device of a certain form, necessary for grain storage. They are of different types, depending on the design.
This silo with a tapered bottom is designed to store grain before it is processed. Its capacity ranges from 30 to 940 cubic meters. It received its name due to the construction of the bottom, which is made in the shape of a cone. It was designed in such a way as to ensure gravity flow of grain. The angle of inclination in such devices ranges from 45 to 66 degrees, depending on the specification. They are used for bulk solids and non-bulk solids.
Silos of this kind are designed specifically for long-term storage of raw materials. This flat bottom silo has a zinc flat bottom, covered with an airtight lid. Such silos are equipped with improved moisture control and an additional temperature-controlling device. This slightly affects grain silos, the cost of which is quite affordable, and taking into account such modifications. Sometimes they embed computer control systems for loading, unloading and transport.
The task of such silos is not only the storage of grain. They also perform a binding function for the sites of unloading, loading, drying and cleaning of grain. The capacity of silos is different: from 100 to 460 tons. They also differ in angles of inclination – from 45 to 60 degrees. Their production takes into account additional weather loads of wind, snow and icing.
- Frame. Makes the main body part of any silo. It is made of durable steel grades and covered with a layer of galvanized. The body has a wavy structure of such panels, bolted together. An additional ladder is installed on it, as well as special devices for sampling raw materials.
- Cap. It tightly closes the raw materials from moisture, dust and other adversities of the environment.
The ventilation system allows the grain to not abyss and “breathe.” Such systems are installed in a silo with a tapered bottom with a passage. Thermocontrol devices are built in them: refrigerators, heaters and air-conducting pipes.
